Dirty Projectors stopped by the NPR program The Bryant Park Project for an interview and on-air performance. You can hear the segment online and The Bryant Park Project also posted a video of the band’s performance of “Rise Above” on the show’s blog.
Today the 2007 Plug Award nominees were announced and we are thrilled that Dirty Projectors Rise Above was included on the ballot for Best Avant Album of the Year. Please head over to the Plug website and show your support for Dirty Projectors. We’ve already voted thirty or forty times and encourage you to do the same. Hopefully this will be the first of many accolades that Dead Oceans artists receive for their hard work in 2007.
Earlier this year Dirty Projectors visited our friends at Daytrotter and performed songs that were not on their new album, Rise Above. They passed back through Rock Island, IL again this fall and stopped by the Daytrotter studios, this time recording a few selections from Rise Above. These three songs are sparser than the originals, allowing the vocal harmonies to really shine through. Stop by Daytrotter and give it a spin!
The editors of Venus Magazine followed their fantastic 10 out of 10 review of Dirty Projectors new album Rise Above by nominating the band for their Hottt List in the “Best Band” and “Best Rock Album” categories. In the spirit of American democracy, we encourage you to head over and stuff the ballot boxes. Thanks, Venus!
